Do not donate any money to anyone or anyone calling you on the phone, claiming to represent an organization.

 

Do not donate any money to anyone or any organization sending you an e-mail which requests your help and appears to have been sent by an organization, even if it has links which take you to the organization's legitimate web site. 

 

Do not click on any links in any e-mail you receive, even if it looks genuine. 

 

Do not forward any e-mails to anyone you know, even if it seems like a good idea.  You will likely receive e-mails asking you to forward them to everyone you know.  These e-mails are always scams.
